This is one of the stories where you have to face moral dilemma. The ML is a murderer and both MC and ML are in Police Force. I wish the process of ML turning into a criminal was shown or perhaps he was just destined to turn out like this. I felt bad for them, yes. It's not right, I know 😭 The ending is vague, but that actually suits this manhwa (though of course, I wish it was a bit more clearer). But to soothe your broken heart, there are 8 freaking good side stories of the second couple!!!

THIS STORY IS 100% NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!!!
Hi! My name is Zenith, and I write SPOILER-FREE reviews on underrated yaoi manga, manhwa, and manhua. My reviews almost always consist of psychological, horror, and avant-garde stories.

I'm currently on my psychological manhwa grind 💪. I came across Lies Like Lies. It looked interesting, so I gave it a try. Despite being confusing, Lies Like Lies is beautifully crafted. This manhwa contains dark topics which includes ra** and murder.

STORYTELLING - The story of Lies Like Lies is confusing. The pacing is terrible, and the relaying of information to the reader could be better. Nonetheless, the author conjured up what I initially considered close to a masterpiece, but in the end, the climax felt as if it were shoved into 1 or 2 chapters, which is truly such a shame. 6/10.

CHARACTERS - The characters all have a role to play. I quite enjoyed the protagonist’s love for his childhood friend. I found their love quite fascinating. The side characters were equally as interesting. 7/10.

WORLDBUILDING - There's not much to worldbuild in Lies Like Lies; we can assume it takes place in present times. The world works with the story nicely. 6/10.

ART - The art is pulchritudinous, dare I say angelic. This manhwa values the use of color, only having color in important scenes. I've never seen an artist handle hues in this way before. The artstyle itself is easy on the eye; I couldn't ask for more. 10/10.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading Lies Like Lies, although I struggled to understand the basic plot. The story is magnificent; the depiction of coping with trauma and guilt is portrayed beautifully. If you're looking for something comprehensible and wholesome, you might want to skip this one. If you want a short yaoi about trauma and guilt and don't mind the confusion, then go ahead and give Lies Like Lies a try!

My overall rating for Lies Like Lies would be a 7/10.

Thank you for reading my review! Zenith out.

The art was beautiful and suited the mood of each chapter. This was one of the most beautiful psychological short stories I have read. Full of predictable drama. The plot was well thought out... right down to the end. You got everything you need to know to understand the story. And if people wonder why he killed women and not men. I think women are expected to be understanding and Kang didn't find that out but was blamed for years of abuse by women in the neighborhood which caused trauma.
The only thing I really didn't like was the ending. But this was to be expected from the author, and his other story leaves more than one question unanswered at the end.
As far as I understand it, the killer Kang is still alive and the cop Taehoon is dead. Or Kang is in jail now... or Kang is back in action as a cop and Taehoo took all the blame... You can come up with a number of scenarios play through and didn't get a satisfactory answer.
That's what I hate most on open ends!
The subsequent conversation from the captain that this is an accident of stressed employees could also conclude that both are still alive.

Ngl the concept wasn't bad but it's just kind of hard to get into it and I feel like it's too fast?

We don't really get to have any connection with the characters. Well I did felt bad for both mcs but it wasnt as if the ending made me cry when it should have. Knowing me this kind of ending would have made me crying my eyes out but it didn't bc i just couldn't get into it.

That's why I'm only making it a 3, I could have mark it a 4 but it just felt like a meh story yk. I really like Thriller Romance and psychological manhwa but this one was not my thing.
